Job Description
AMR, part of the Global Medical Response (GMR) family of solutions, is a distinguished provider of high-quality emergency and patient relocation services. As a leader in compassionate medical care, AMR dedicates itself to delivering exemplary services that make a real difference in the lives of the community it serves. The company is known for its commitment to excellence, placing strong emphasis on both patient care and safety, and employs individuals who bring professionalism, empathy, and skill to their roles. Based at 72-11 Amstel Blvd in Arverne, NY, AMR offers prospective employees a chance to join a respected team that prioritizes delivering compassionate, dignified care to patients in need, especially within the Access-A-Ride transportation service.
AMR is currently hiring drivers for part-time and full-time afternoon shifts, specifically from 1 PM to 11 PM, seven days a week, with mandatory weekend work. These positions offer competitive pay ranging from $23.11 to $29.58 per hour based on experience, alongside a $5,000 sign-on bonus for new full-time Commercial Driver's License (CDL) holders. The Access-A-Ride Drivers play a vital role in responding promptly and professionally to transportation requests, ensuring disabled and special-needs passengers receive secure, comfortable, and compassionate door-to-door service. This role requires a strong sense of responsibility, personal care, and sensitivity to the unique needs of each passenger.
Beyond competitive wages, AMR offers a comprehensive range of union company benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plans, and life insurance. Employees also have access to overtime opportunities and preferential rates if they have prior experience driving for Access-A-Ride. Additionally, AMR supports professional development by offering training aimed at helping employees obtain their CDL Class CP license, which is beneficial for advancing careers within the company. Committed to safety and well-being, the company requires all applicants to be fully COVID vaccinated.
Joining AMR means becoming part of a larger mission focused on delivering exceptional, compassionate medical transportation and emergency services. The culture within AMR fosters teamwork, respect, and a shared commitment to serving vulnerable populations with dignity and care. Drivers not only provide a critical link in healthcare mobility solutions but also uphold the company’s pledge to enhance patient experiences through reliable, caring customer service. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about driving, community service, and making meaningful impacts in healthcare accessibility and patient transport.
