Monterey Peninsula Country Club (MPCC) is a distinguished private golf country club nestled within the prestigious Pebble Beach forest. Renowned for its exclusivity and exceptional services, MPCC boasts over 1,100 members who enjoy access to two championship 18-hole golf courses and five diverse food and beverage venues. We are currently seeking an experienced All Around Cook to join our culinary team at MPCC. This full-time role is integral to the successful operation of our kitchen, assisting in the preparation of a wide variety of meals including breakfasts, lunches, dinners, banquets, and special parties. The All Around Cook will not only support meal preparation but also maintain food storage and production areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to health standards.

The successful candidate will be versatile and skilled in multiple cooking methods, able to efficiently handle the demands of a busy kitchen environment. Key responsibilities include assisting in meal planning and preparation, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, and supporting the kitchen staff in various roles as needed. The All Around Cook is expected to uphold the club's commitment to quality and safety, providing members with exceptional food service in a timely and professional manner.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as cook
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals
  • Must be able to work independently

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as cook
  • Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Must be able to work independently

Job Duties

  • Assist in the planning, creation, and preparation of meals for the permanent, banquet, and daily menus
  • Assist in maintaining preparation, storage, and holding areas in a clean, neat controlled, sanitary, and safe condition throughout work shift for following crews
  • Assist in maintaining adequate food items to support meal orders at all times
  • Work any kitchen position as directed by the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef
  • Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen above the level expected by the Health Department
  • Ensure all services to members are provided in a highly professional and efficient manner with strong attention to detail
  • Support safe work habits of all banquet staff and contribute to a safe working environment at all times
