The Airport Lounge Cook position at Sodexo's Airport Dimensions-Sapphire Lounge by The Club offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a dedicated team within the vibrant and fast-paced airport environment. This is a full-time role with a competitive hourly pay rate of $20.00. Working in this position means contributing directly to a relaxing and satisfying experience for travelers by preparing nutritious and appealing dishes in a professional lounge setting. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that guests receive not only excellent food but also exceptional service that enhances their travel experience.
As an Airport Lounge Cook, you will be responsible for efficiently preparing and cooking a variety of hot and cold dishes according to recipes and nutritional standards while minimizing food waste. You will be expected to handle meal preparation for multiple service periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special or catered events. Accuracy and food safety will be essential, as will your ability to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
This role requires flexibility, as shifts may vary throughout the day to meet the demands of the airport lounge operation, and open availability is a must. Your teamwork skills and positive attitude will be critical in maintaining a smooth, efficient service operation. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 0 to 2 years of previous related experience beneficial
- Open availability to work any shift
- Ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Capable of standing for extended periods during shifts
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 0 to 2 years of related cooking or kitchen experience beneficial
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow recipes and cooking instructions accurately
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Adaptability and flexibility to work various shifts as required
- Positive attitude and customer service orientation
Job Duties
- Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special/catered events
- Read and follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing various food items
- Prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte and/or operate a grill station
- Attend work and show for scheduled shifts on time with satisfactory regularity
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in the kitchen area
- Assist with inventory management and food waste reduction practices
- Perform other duties as assigned depending on business necessities and client requirements
