Job Description

Bags, a Metropolis company, is dedicated to enhancing the travel experience for a world on the go. As an integral part of the largest mobility network in North America, Bags combines cutting-edge technology with a customer-first mindset, focusing especially on airport services. The company operates across more than 4,000 locations in North America and Europe, employing over 23,000 individuals committed to reimagining how people navigate their journeys. From curbside to gate, Bags aims to streamline baggage handling, check-in, and other key travel touchpoints, eliminating traditional travel stress and making every step effortless and efficient.

The role of a Curbside Concierge - Airline Check-in Agent with Bags is a vital position that involves face-to-face guest service at busy airport curbside locations. This role includes responsibilities such as handling and securing luggage in accordance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) standards, issuing boarding passes, tagging bags for departing flights, and providing passengers with relevant information about locations, directions, and flight schedules. Ensuring a high level of customer service is fundamental to the role, with the Concierge expected to maintain a friendly and professional demeanor even in fast-paced, high-volume environments.

This is a physically demanding role that requires on-the-job security training and the ability to acquire applicable airport badges. The Curbside Concierge should be knowledgeable about safety, security, dangerous goods, and HAZMAT procedures, expanded through annual training provided by Bags and its airline partners. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, along with the ability to manage payments and simple calculations. The Concierge also plays a role in organizing and stocking the service desk while upholding client service guidelines and values.

The job involves working outdoors in all weather conditions, requiring the ability to lift and handle luggage up to 75 pounds, push luggage carts, and stand for extended periods. The physical demands also include frequent walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, and maintaining awareness in noisy, busy environments. Appearance standards emphasize a professional business-like image, including dress, grooming, and hygiene consistent with company policies. This role offers a salary of $15.00 per hour plus tips, with eligibility for various employee benefits such as medical, dental, vision insurance, and paid time off.

Joining Bags means becoming part of a dynamic, inclusive team that values diversity and equal employment opportunity. The company uses advanced tools during the hiring process and commits to supporting applicants throughout. Individuals interested in this role should be prepared to contribute positively and energetically to the travel experience of countless passengers, helping bags and travelers move smoothly and safely from curbside to gate and beyond.
