Job Requirements

  • valid USAF pilot rating
  • hold a valid aviation service aeronautical order
  • minimum of 750 total military flight hours for GS-12
  • minimum of 1,000 total military flight hours for GS-13 pilot positions
  • minimum of 1,200 total military flight hours and two years of flying experience for GS-13 flight instructor
  • minimum of 1,500 total military flight hours and three years of flying experience for GS-14 flight instructor
  • submission of official flight documentation including ATAFR-209 Form or Flying History Report
  • maintain military membership in the Air Force Reserve
  • comply with age, height, weight, and physical fitness standards
  • meet all civilian and military qualifications for Air Reserve Technician role

Job Qualifications

  • possession of a USAF pilot rating
  • valid aviation service aeronautical order
  • minimum military flight time as specified by grade level
  • experience in flying component roles with progressively responsible assignments
  • ability to obtain and maintain Air Force Reserve membership
  • physical fitness meeting military standards

Job Duties

  • operate military aircraft in accordance with mission requirements
  • conduct flight training and evaluations
  • maintain proficiency and readiness as a flight instructor
  • comply with military and civilian regulations
  • prepare and submit required flight documentation
  • participate in active duty tours and mobilization activities
  • support operational readiness and training exercises
