Job Requirements

  • possession of appropriate FAA pilot certificates or military ratings
  • meet flight hour requirements including minimum of 1500 total flight hours
  • valid commercial pilot certificate or airline transport pilot certificate with multi-engine land rating
  • valid first or second-class medical certificate
  • obtain first-class medical certificate prior to appointment
  • minimum 250 pilot-in-command flight hours
  • minimum 75 night flying hours
  • minimum 100 flight hours in last 12 months
  • minimum 500 hours multi-engine airplane time
  • minimum 75 hours instrument time including 10 hours actual instrument weather
  • submit FAA Form 3330-47-3 to verify flight hours
  • successful completion of ATP written exam if required
  • possession of Airspace Inspection Pilot credential for certain levels
  • specialized experience relevant to position duties

Job Qualifications

  • valid commercial pilot certificate with airplane, multi-engine land, and instrument ratings or airline transport pilot certificate with multi-engine land rating
  • valid first or second-class medical certificate
  • minimum total flight time of 1500 hours
  • minimum of 250 hours pilot-in-command time
  • minimum of 75 hours night flying time
  • minimum of 100 flight hours in last 12 months including approved simulator time
  • minimum of 500 hours multi-engine airplane time
  • minimum of 75 hours instrument time including at least 10 hours in actual instrument weather
  • knowledge of FAA regulations and safety standards
  • ability to pass ATP written exam if selected without ATP certificate
  • possession of Airspace Inspection Pilot credential for certain levels

Job Duties

  • operate and pilot multi-engine aircraft for FAA missions
  • conduct airspace inspections and evaluations
  • maintain compliance with FAA safety regulations
  • perform pilot proficiency evaluations
  • complete required flight hours and maintain medical certificates
  • document and verify flight hours using FAA forms
  • participate in ongoing training and certification processes
