Job Requirements

  • valid commercial pilot certificate or airline transport pilot certificate
  • possession of multi-engine land and instrument ratings
  • possession of valid first or second-class medical certificate
  • successful completion of ATP written exam within 60 days if ATP certificate not held
  • minimum 1500 total flight hours including pilot-in-command and multi-engine hours
  • minimum 75 night flying hours
  • minimum 75 instrument flying hours with actual instrument weather time
  • submission of FAA Form 3330-47-3 to verify flight hours
  • ability to obtain first-class medical certificate prior to appointment
  • possession of Airspace Inspection Pilot credential for FV-J level
  • meeting specialized experience requirements as applicable
  • eligibility based on application and supplemental documentation

Job Qualifications

  • Commercial pilot certificate with airplane, multi-engine land and instrument ratings or Airline Transport Pilot certificate with multi-engine land rating
  • valid first or second-class medical certificate
  • ability to obtain first-class medical certificate prior to appointment
  • minimum 1500 total flight hours
  • minimum 250 pilot-in-command flight hours
  • minimum 75 night flying hours
  • minimum 75 instrument flying hours including actual instrument weather conditions
  • minimum 500 multi-engine airplane flight hours
  • experience with FAA Form 3330-47-3 ASIP
  • demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities for pilot duties
  • successful completion of ATP written exam within 60 days if ATP certificate not held

Job Duties

  • Conduct pilot operations for FAA missions
  • perform inspections and evaluations of airspace and aircraft
