Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- ability to lift and handle heavy baggage and cargo up to 50 lbs or more
- valid driver’s license maintained throughout employment
- strong communication skills
- flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends, holidays, and nights
- basic mechanical aptitude for operating ground support equipment
- ability to pass background checks and comply with airport security regulations
- attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
- fluently read, write, and speak English
- membership and dues payment to the Transport Workers Union as required by collective bargaining agreement
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- previous experience in aviation or ground handling operations preferred
- familiarity with aircraft types and airport layout preferred
- knowledge of safety regulations and protocols in the airport environment preferred
- experience operating ground support equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and forklifts preferred
- strong problem-solving skills
- excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
- ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
- basic computer skills for paperwork and scheduling
- strong customer service orientation and positive attitude
Job Duties
- Marshall aircraft upon arrival and departure
- load and unload cargo/baggage on and off aircraft
- safely drive and operate ground support equipment including belt loaders, tugs, and baggage carts
- sort and load baggage
- perform ground service functions such as connecting/removing ground power and water service
- perform aircraft pushback, wing walking and guide man functions
- maintain a secure work environment
