The company operates in the aviation industry, specializing in airline station management and customer service. As a full-time position with salary based on experience, it provides a key leadership role for individuals looking to advance their careers in airline operations and management.
The core responsibility of the Station Manager is to maintain compliance with all company and federal policies relating to the daily operations of the airline station. This position acts as the communication bridge between internal airline departments and external stakeholders, including airport officials, regulatory bodies, and service vendors. The role demands someone with exceptional organizational and planning skills who can set clear goals and continuously measure performance against them to raise the station's overall effectiveness.
As a Station Manager, the individual leads by example, demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and outstanding communication skills. Motivating staff and managing the team fairly and respectfully is a fundamental part of the role, fostering an environment that encourages employee development and career advancement. The Station Manager also has direct responsibility for evaluating station employees, providing ongoing feedback, and implementing recognition programs to celebrate station achievements in safety, performance, and revenue collection.
The role requires ensuring the highest levels of safety compliance for aircraft, customers, employees, and facilities, addressing issues proactively and enforcing corrective action where necessary. Compliance with federal directives, such as those issued by the FAA and TSA, as well as local security and safety requirements, is paramount. The Station Manager conducts audits and oversees quality assurance processes to guarantee that all airport and airline service functions are delivered effectively and within regulatory frameworks.
Another crucial aspect of the job is managing the station's financial controls by monitoring expenses and implementing cost control programs. Establishing strong relationships with airport officials and local community representatives is vital for smooth operations and serves as the liaison for contract negotiations with various vendors, including fueling, skycap services, security, catering, cleaning, and ground handling.
In addition to operational duties, the Station Manager coordinates employee scheduling to ensure a balanced and efficient workforce. The individual supervises hiring and workforce planning, ensuring training requirements are met with new hire and recurrent programs as well as local supplemental training initiatives.
The role extends to direct customer service responsibility, involving investigation and response to customer feedback and complaints in partnership with the Customer Relations department. Profitability is also a focus, as the Station Manager is expected to work toward establishing contract revenue opportunities and actively pursue initiatives to enhance station profitability.
The position demands physical capability to handle luggage and perform various physical tasks required in the station environment while maintaining composure and professionalism under stress. Candidates must pass comprehensive background checks, drug testing, and possess valid licensing and certifications relevant to airline ground operations.
This career opportunity is ideal for an individual with at least three years of supervisory experience in the airline industry who values workplace safety, compliance, teamwork, and customer service. The Station Manager plays a vital role in achieving operational excellence, compliance adherence, and ensuring an excellent customer experience at the airline station.
