Job Requirements
- one year of construction, maintenance, and repair experience
- ability to obtain Airport Operations Area driving certification within first year
- comfortable climbing ladders
- capable of lifting 50 pounds
- available for irregular hours and weekends
- able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- pass a criminal background check
- possession of valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- authorized to drive City vehicles
- maintained personal insurance if using personal vehicles for City business
Job Qualifications
- one year of experience in construction, maintenance, and repair work
- knowledge of FAA rules, regulations, and guidelines preferred
- experience with airfield maintenance
- familiarity with grounds maintenance
- skills in crack and joint sealing
- experience in paint striping and ground marking
- ability to work in an airfield environment
- experience in public contact and customer service
- skills in chain link fence installation and repair
- ability to set up and take down traffic barricades
- experience in concrete and asphalt installation and maintenance
- ability to operate small mechanical or power equipment
Job Duties
- perform construction and maintenance tasks on airport airfields and streets
- seal asphalt cracks and concrete joints
- install, maintain, and repair painted and thermoplastic ground markings
- conduct general grounds maintenance
- set up barricades and warning devices to manage traffic around work zones
- assist with concrete and asphalt installation and repair
- operate small to medium gasoline or diesel-powered engine-driven equipment
