Job Requirements
- minimum eligibility requirements based on FAA pilot certificates or military ratings
- possession of a valid first or second-class medical certificate
- obtain first-class medical certificate prior to appointment
- meet flight hour requirements including total flight time and pilot-in-command hours
- demonstrate necessary knowledge and skills for the position
- provide military flight experience documentation if applicable
- complete required training including FAA initial flight test courses
- demonstrate proficiency via flight check
- specialized experience of at least one year at a designated level
- comply with FAA qualifications standards
Job Qualifications
- possession of a current commercial pilot certificate or airline transport pilot rating with single-engine and multi-engine land and instrument ratings
- valid first or second-class medical certificate at the time of application
- military pilot ratings accepted if accompanied by official documentation
- minimum total flight time of 1750 hours with specified pilot-in-command, night flying, and recent flight hours
- specialized experience equivalent to at least one year at FV-I, FG/GS-13 level
- completion of flight test school or equivalent experience preferred
- knowledge of flight testing procedures and aircraft performance evaluation
- ability to operate heavy multi-engine airplanes or heavy helicopters
- familiarity with FAA regulations and safety protocols
Job Duties
- conduct flight operations and testing to ensure compliance with aviation safety standards
- evaluate aircraft performance and carry out flight tests for engineering approval
- demonstrate proficiency in various flight scenarios including night flying and instrument flying
- document and verify flight experience and certifications as per FAA requirements
- participate in ongoing training and certification processes to maintain qualifications
- collaborate with engineering and regulatory teams to assess airworthiness and compliance
- perform flight checks in aircraft or simulators to validate operational capabilities
