Job Requirements
- Possess appropriate Federal Aviation Administration pilot certificates or military ratings
- Meet applicable flight hour requirements including recency of flight experience
- Hold a valid first or second-class medical certificate
- Obtain a first-class medical certificate prior to appointment
- Provide official documentation for military flight experience if applicable
- Demonstrate specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13
- Successfully complete FAA required training and flight test courses
Job Qualifications
- Possession of a current Commercial Pilot Certificate or Airline Transport Pilot rating
- Valid first or second-class medical certificate at the time of application
- Minimum 1750 total flight hours including required pilot-in-command and night flying hours
- Completion of flight test school or equivalent one year of flight test experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of FAA regulations and flight test procedures
- Experience operating heavy multi-engine airplanes or heavy rotorcraft
- Specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13 level
Job Duties
- Evaluate and conduct flight tests to verify aircraft performance and safety
- Operate heavy multi-engine airplanes or rotorcraft in accordance with regulatory standards
- Maintain currency of flight experience including night, instrument, and recent flight hours
- Prepare detailed flight reports and document test results accurately
- Ensure compliance with FAA medical certification and operational requirements
- Collaborate with engineering teams to analyze aircraft performance data
- Complete required FAA training and maintain proficiency in flight test techniques
