Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma required
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, or U.S. citizen or alien with legal right to accept employment in the United States without restriction
  • Must be at least 23 years of age
  • Must have a valid FAA Aircraft Dispatcher (ADX) certificate
  • Proficient in spoken and written English language skills
  • Extensive experience using Microsoft Office tools and software
  • Strong ability to work under pressure
  • Possess strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Have a proven record of reliability and excellent attendance
  • Present a neat, professional, and well-groomed image
  • Be able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Possess a positive attitude and understand that we are all One Crew
  • Be able to work weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid FAA Aircraft Dispatcher (ADX) certificate
  • Proficient in spoken and written English
  • Experienced in using Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proven reliability and excellent attendance record
  • Neat, professional, and well-groomed appearance
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to sit for extended periods
  • Positive attitude
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts
  • Experience with NAVBLUE flight planner preferred
  • College education, military service, or related experience preferred
  • Experience as Aircraft Dispatcher, Air Transportation Supervisor or training management preferred

Job Duties

  • Exercise daily operational control of all assigned Avelo Airlines aircraft while on duty
  • Ensure proper notification of company and government officials in case of security threats or emergencies
  • Encourage safety through communication and awareness during all flight phases
  • Share accurate information with crew members to build understanding and trust
  • Ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and on-time performance
  • Monitor weather conditions and incorporate into flight and fuel planning
  • Consider ATC traffic conditions and flow times
  • Review NOTAM, station and field information and apply necessary flight adjustments
  • Prepare and transmit dispatch release documents to stations and pilots
  • Keep Pilots informed of changing conditions and amend release documents if needed
  • Monitor all flight movements and notify management of delays
  • Assist in managing emergency situations and security threats
  • Coordinate with departments on canceled flights or irregular operations
  • Ensure crew duty limitations are respected
  • Maintain familiarity with MEL/CDL items for flight planning
  • Enter Flight Notes into operations software
  • Communicate operational issues promptly to management and crews
  • Notify crews about aircraft swaps
  • Review company memos for procedural changes
  • Request assistance during increased workload or adverse events
  • Evaluate RAIM and take appropriate action if checks fail
  • Notify ATC and captains of any safety critical outages
  • Perform other related tasks as directed by management
  • Travel once a year and occasionally as needed
