The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) plays an essential role in ensuring the safety and professionalism of the National Airspace System (NAS) by employing over 14,000 air traffic controllers who safely separate more than 50,000 aircraft every day across the United States and its territories. Job Requirements

  • Certified Professional Controller (CPC) certification required
  • minimum five years recent live traffic control experience or recent FAA personnel instruction experience
  • experience at a similar type and level ATC facility as Oklahoma City airport
  • strong technical skills with ATC automation and simulation
  • ability to mentor students and RPOs
  • knowledge of radar and non-radar simulation certification requirements
  • must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance

Job Qualifications

  • Certified Professional Controller (CPC) certification
  • minimum five years recent experience as a CPC controlling live traffic
  • experience instructing FAA personnel
  • strong knowledge of ATC automation and simulation systems
  • excellent teaching and platform skills
  • effective classroom management techniques
  • mentoring experience
  • ability to collaborate with FAA personnel

Job Duties

  • Deliver high-quality classroom and simulation training to air traffic control students
  • mentor students and Remote Pilot Operators
  • participate in curriculum design and development
  • demonstrate excellent teaching and classroom management skills
  • maintain up-to-date knowledge of FAA procedures and ATC automation
  • obtain and maintain radar and non-radar simulation laboratory certifications
  • collaborate with FAA personnel and support the FAA's air traffic control mission
