Job Requirements

  • Experience in EMS related field or dispatching experience for a public service agency such as air medical, fire, police, or EMS
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Completion of International Association of Medical Transport Communication Specialist (IAMTCS) CFC Course within 18 months of hire or transfer required
  • Provides excellent customer service via phone and radio technology with requesting agencies and referring facilities
  • Excellent computer skills including navigation and medical terminology knowledge
  • Able to multitask and read maps
  • Demonstrates knowledge of FCC rules and regulations for communication systems
  • Demonstrates ability to accurately operate and file information into mapping software, patch-matrix, and Flight for Life communication center database
  • Sedentary work involving prolonged sitting and occasional exertion up to 10 lbs

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in EMS-related field or dispatching for a public service agency such as air medical, fire, police, or EMS
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of International Association of Medical Transport Communication Specialist (IAMTCS) CFC course within 18 months of hire or transfer
  • Excellent computer skills including navigation and medical terminology knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and read maps
  • Knowledge of FCC rules and regulations for communications systems
  • Ability to accurately operate and file information into dispatch and mapping databases

Job Duties

  • Dispatch all transport activity for Flight for Life
  • Serve as general communicator for Flight for Life staff and keep them informed of all activities and transport requests
  • Maintain and update the Flight for Life database
  • Coordinate transfer center activity
  • Provide excellent customer service via phone and radio technology with requesting agencies and referring facilities
  • Operate and file information accurately into mapping software, patch-matrix, and Flight for Life communication center database
  • Demonstrate knowledge of FCC rules and regulations related to communication systems
