Job Requirements
- U.S. citizen
- Primary U.S. residency for at least 3 of the last 5 years
- Maximum age of 40 at initial appointment with possible waivers
- Current FAA Commercial or ATP Pilot Certification with dual or single ratings
- Minimum 1500 total flight hours (waivers up to 500 hours allowed)
- At least 250 Pilot-in-Command hours
- 75 Instrument flight hours
- 75 Night flight hours
- 100 flight hours in last 12 months
- FAA Class 2 medical certificate within last 12 months
- Ability to successfully complete required training
- Willingness to work at any assigned duty location within region
- Ability to travel as required for operational needs
Job Qualifications
- One year of specialized professional aviation experience
- Flying as Pilot-in-Command or sole manipulator in airplane or helicopter
- Ability to evaluate information rapidly and make prompt decisions during flight
- Experience developing strategies and coordinating assets
- Familiarity with information systems and databases
- FAA Commercial or ATP Pilot Certification with required ratings
- Equivalent military pilot rating accepted
- Minimum of 1500 total flight hours with specific requirements for Pilot-in-Command, instrument, and night hours
- UAS flight hours may be credited towards total flight time
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must have primary U.S. residency for at least 3 of the last 5 years
- Must meet maximum age requirements with possible waivers
Job Duties
- Conducting air patrol, surveillance, and pursuit activities related to the interdiction of smuggled contraband via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels
- Monitoring behavior patterns and activities of suspect persons, vehicles, or vessels believed to be engaged in illegal activities
- Collecting, refining, and analyzing strategic and tactical intelligence
- Supporting search and rescue and humanitarian efforts
- Coordinating aircraft and ground assets during law enforcement operations
- Operating aircraft as Pilot-in-Command in varied environments including night and poor weather
- Using information systems and databases to conduct surveys, queries, and disseminate information
