Job Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Residency in the U.S. or protectorates for at least three of the last five years
  • Maximum age limit of 40 for original appointment to the position
  • FAA Class 1 or Class 2 medical certificate dated within the last 12 months
  • Minimum 1500 total flight hours with specified minimums for pilot-in-command, instrument, and night flying
  • Willingness to work at any duty location within selected region
  • Ability to successfully complete required training programs
  • Eligible to travel as operationally required
  • Provide proof of veteran's preference if applicable

Job Qualifications

  • FAA commercial or ATP pilot certification with appropriate ratings
  • Experience flying as pilot-in-command or sole manipulator in various flight environments
  • Ability to evaluate information rapidly and make judicious decisions
  • Experience developing strategies and coordinating aircraft and ground assets
  • Familiarity with information systems and databases for intelligence work
  • Military flight experience equivalent to FAA certifications

Job Duties

  • Conducting air patrol, surveillance, and pursuit activities related to the interdiction of smuggled contraband via land vehicles, aircraft, or vessels
  • Monitoring behavior patterns and activities of suspect persons, vehicles, or vessels believed to be engaged in illegal activities
  • Collecting, refining, and analyzing strategic and tactical intelligence
  • Supporting search and rescue and humanitarian efforts
