Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off
- Must be willing to join Transport Workers Union (TWU) and pay union dues
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
- Ability to distinguish colors red, green, and yellow
- Ability to work in various weather and environmental conditions
- Ability to understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience in cargo handling or ramp operations preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to follow safety instructions
- Ability to work under high-noise conditions
Job Duties
- Load and unload cargo weighing up to 70 lbs in and out of aircraft within confined cargo areas
- Push, pull, and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs on rollers with/to aircraft
- Drive vehicles with gross weights of 3,000 to 80,000 lbs in congested areas around aircraft and equipment
- Engage in push-out of aircraft driving 80,000 lb vehicle or assist drivers using depth perception and communication
- Transport cargo to and from aircraft using vehicles through congested ramp areas
- Perform ground to cockpit communication via hand signals and voice commands during push-back procedures
- Report security breaches and questionable activities to management or via whistleblower program
