Job Description
Cleveland Clinic's Lutheran Hospital is a premier healthcare establishment located near downtown Cleveland, Ohio. As part of the Cleveland Clinic system, which is renowned worldwide for its commitment to advanced research, cutting-edge surgical techniques, and exceptional patient care, Lutheran Hospital continues this tradition by providing a top-tier environment both for patients and caregivers alike. Situated conveniently close to the heart of Cleveland, the hospital offers caregivers the benefits of access to a wide range of shopping, dining, and recreational opportunities, including sporting events and options to walk or bike to work. The hospital blends the vibrancy of urban life with a dedicated, family-like workplace atmosphere that values each employee's contribution and well-being.
As a healthcare institution, Lutheran Hospital is deeply invested in maintaining a facility that supports optimal healing and comfort for its patients. This means that no detail is overlooked when it comes to providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. To uphold these standards, Lutheran Hospital is seeking a Housekeeping Aide to join their facilities team. This role is an integral part of ensuring the hospital environment remains sanitary, attractive, and safe across patient rooms, public spaces, and clinical areas. The position entails performing a range of cleaning and maintenance duties to support the high standards expected by patients, staff, and visitors.
The Housekeeping Aide position is an evening shift role, working from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Every day, aides support the hospital by engaging in tasks such as removing trash, cleaning patient areas and nurse stations, dusting, mopping, wiping down surfaces, replenishing room supplies, and managing emergency cleaning situations when needed. The aide will handle the appropriate use of cleaning chemicals, ensuring proper dilution and application, and help maintain the orderly arrangement of furniture in various rooms. Training and development activities such as attending in-service sessions and understanding the hospital policies are also part of the responsibilities.
This role requires a caregiver who is attentive, proactive, and committed to contributing to the safe and nurturing environment of Lutheran Hospital. An ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and some healthcare experience, though comprehensive training and support are provided. Physical stamina to perform tasks often requiring stationary work, mobility, transportation of equipment, and use of cleaning products is necessary given the nature of duties in a healthcare setting.
Joining Lutheran Hospital means becoming part of a respected global healthcare organization that values its employees as family members. The hospital fosters a culture where caregivers receive continuous support and appreciation, allowing them to build rewarding careers in a supportive environment dedicated to excellence in patient care and facility management. While salary details are not explicitly stated and may vary, candidates are encouraged to discuss specifics during the hiring process.
