The role of Assistant General Manager (F&B Focus) at The Ellison Hotel is a critical leadership position that supports the General Manager in overseeing the comprehensive day-to-day operations of the property with a special emphasis on managing the Food and Beverage division. This full-time position requires a dynamic individual capable of ensuring that both the hotel and its dining outlets deliver exceptional guest experiences while optimizing operational efficiency and maintaining strong financial performance. The AGM takes charge of a variety of responsibilities including marketing, developing, and managing all Food and Beverage outlets, supporting other departments such as Front Office, Housekeeping, Sales, and Maintenance, and serving as the Manager on Duty (MOD) in the absence of the General Manager.

The successful candidate will champion outstanding guest service across all areas, consistently driving customer satisfaction and creating a positive, service-oriented environment for both guests and associates. They will act as an ambassador of the hotel and restaurants, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for every visitor. Accessibility and responsiveness to guest and team needs are paramount, as is maintaining effective communication within and across departments to ensure smooth operations. Additionally, the AGM will be involved in routine inspections, addressing safety and cleanliness issues, soliciting and acting on guest feedback, and maintaining compliance with the hotel’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Financial acumen is a key component of this role, with responsibilities that include assisting with basic accounts payable and receivable functions, analyzing profit and loss statements, budgeting, controlling costs, and safeguarding hotel assets. The Assistant General Manager also plays a pivotal role in human resources by helping to recruit, train, and evaluate staff performance, fostering a strong, cohesive team culture aligned with brand standards and corporate policies.

Job Duties

  • Market, curate, develop, and manage all aspects of the F&B outlets
  • support departmental leaders in Front Office, Housekeeping, Sales, Maintenance, and other areas as needed
