Job Description

This position is with a local business unit seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to take charge of daily operations, staff management, budgeting, and overall strategic planning. The company is dedicated to delivering high-quality service and operational excellence, and the Assistant General Manager plays a critical role in helping the business grow and thrive. The business unit operates in a dynamic environment where leadership, operational knowledge, and strategic acumen are essential to maintaining and increasing profitability.

The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all staff and ensuring that team members perform productively and develop professionally. This role entails the direct management of budgets, resource optimization, policy formulation, and operational improvements to meet the company’s performance goals. The incumbent will be actively involved in recruitment, training, employee assessments, and compliance with health and safety regulations to uphold standards of excellence.

Working 45 hours per week, including closing shifts at least twice a week and weekend shifts, the Assistant General Manager will work a structured 5-day schedule. This role requires a thoughtful leader who can make confident decisions and provide solutions to challenges such as profit decline, employee conflicts, and competitor pressures. The Assistant General Manager will design strategies aligned with company objectives, prepare performance reports for upper management, and drive initiatives that enhance business outcomes.
