Job Requirements
- Seven years of combined experience in inspection and manufacturing
- Experience in electrical, mechanical, or electro-mech inspection for an electronics manufacturer
- Experience inspecting mechanical and electrical items such as PCBAs and cables
- Ability to use standard measurement and inspection tools such as pin gauges, calipers, visual inspection systems, and microscopes
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Flexible to work either first or second shift
- Organized and detail-focused approach
- Knowledge of ESD S20.20 and good ESD control practices
- IPC Certification is a plus
- Experience with satellites or flight hardware is desirable
Job Qualifications
- Seven years of combined experience in inspection and manufacturing
- Experience in electrical, mechanical, or electro-mechanical inspection for an electronics manufacturer
- Previous experience with satellites or flight hardware is a plus
- Experience inspecting mechanical and electrical items including PCBAs and cables
- Experience inspecting optical parts such as lenses, mirrors, and prisms is a plus
- Ability to use standard measurement and inspection tools like pin gauges, calipers, visual inspection systems, and microscopes
- IPC Certification such as J-STD 001, IPC-610, or IPC-620 is beneficial
- Knowledge of ESD S20.20 and ESD control best practices
- Organized, proactive, independent, careful, and detail-focused
- Flexible, able to multi-task and reprioritize in a dynamic environment
- U.S. citizenship
- Availability for either first or second shift
Job Duties
- Inspect custom fabricated mechanical parts and electrical assemblies using industry-appropriate methods
- Conduct first article inspections, in-process and final inspection audits in manufacturing and shipping as needed
- Record inspection results by completing reports, summarizing results, and entering data into the quality management system
- Communicate inspection results and provide continual improvement suggestions
- Confirm assembly and production line adherence to standards, procedures, and legal requirements
- Review production travelers to ensure correctness and completeness
- Monitor production operations for conformance to company specifications
- Ensure integrity of the end-item-data-package for all delivered space-flight terminals
- Identify and implement process improvements such as mistake-proofing to improve throughput
