Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 7-8 years equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years relevant event planning experience
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel 30% within Northern Illinois and Wisconsin and occasional visits to Memphis
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage budget and vendors
  • Problem-solving skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years relevant event planning experience
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with seating and auction software preferred
  • Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) certification preferred
  • Event Professional Certification helpful
  • Strong project management and communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Northern Illinois and Wisconsin
  • Ability to handle complex problem-solving and negotiation

Job Duties

  • Lead experiential logistics for premier events across Northern Illinois and Wisconsin
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to create engaging and mission-centered event experiences
  • Manage expenses and develop creative cost-savings measures
  • Address complex and non-recurring problems with innovative solutions
  • Adhere to ALSAC policies and procedures while making recommendations for improvements
  • Design and manage event decor, food, beverage, and vendors for mid to high-tier events
  • Conduct market research, negotiate contracts, and manage projects within budget and timeline
  • Proactively handle event day issues and liaise with clients to ensure customer satisfaction
