Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Current CPR certification
  • Minimum of one to two years of related experience preferred
  • Experience in a medical admitting department preferred
  • Familiarity with computerized registration systems preferred

Job Duties

  • Promotes a positive image of Watson Clinic Surgical Center through daily interactions with patients and families
  • Verifies patient information and prepares admitting paperwork to register patients and initiate surgical visits
  • Initiates patient charts and completes appropriate labeling for daily schedules, add-ons, or emergency cases
  • Ensures patients complete consent forms and collects payments due at admission
  • Maintains an organized workspace and positive impressions for patients, visitors, and vendors
  • Communicates with clinical staff to ensure efficient, patient-friendly workflow through the facility
  • Assists with checking in and out patient charts between the facility and HIMS department
  • Performs daily clerical duties according to the task checklist
  • Stays current on practices in scheduling, verification, and accounts receivable to assist patient questions
  • Assists with training new and current employees in the admissions department
  • Manages receiving and distribution of mail and verifies delivered goods
  • Keeps the patient waiting area tidy and restocks magazines and refreshments
  • Prepares patient information for the next day, including placing charts and managing the greeter book
