Job Description
The Africana Studies Program and Newcomb Art Department at Tulane University are collaborating to launch an innovative new initiative known as the Crossroads program. Tulane University, located in New Orleans, Louisiana, is a prestigious private research university recognized for its commitment to academic excellence and cultural enrichment. The Africana Studies Program focuses on the study and celebration of African, African American, and Diaspora cultures, while the Newcomb Art Department provides comprehensive education in art history, studio art, and design. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of directly related work experience
- knowledge of budgeting and finance software
- coursework in Africana, Black, African American, African studies, art history, studio art, or related area
- ability to complete and pass occupational health screening annually
- ability to pass background check, physical, and drug screening if exposed to animals or animal tissues
- strong organizational and communication skills
Job Qualifications

- at least 2 years of directly related work experience
- familiarity with budgeting and finance software
- coursework or degree in Africana, Black, African American, or African studies
- coursework or degree in art history, studio art, or a related field
- strong communication and organizational skills
- proficiency in word processing, basic design software, and spreadsheets
Job Duties
- Manage finances for the Crossroads program
- book and coordinate student and faculty travel
- handle administration of program funds
- organize and track budgets and itineraries efficiently
- coordinate logistics for events and travel
- communicate effectively with team members
- generate ideas and complete tasks independently
