Job Requirements

  • U.S. citizen or national
  • satisfactory pre-employment adjudication including fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing
  • registered for Selective Service if applicable
  • completion of one year probationary period if selected
  • meeting all qualification requirements by closing date
  • disclosure of political appointee status if applicable
  • providing proof of ICTAP or CTAP eligibility if claiming priority
  • ability to pass potential typing test
  • submission of all educational credentials and translations if foreign education is used

Job Qualifications

  • At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level
  • four years of education above the high school level
  • a combination of specialized experience and education totaling 100% of the requirements
  • ability to type at least 40 words per minute with high accuracy
  • education from accredited colleges or universities or equivalent foreign education with proper documentation
  • specialized experience including mail distribution, reception, maintaining office supplies, and record keeping

Job Duties

  • Serving as the primary receptionist and receiving telephone calls and visitors to the office
  • receiving, sorting, and distributing mail and packages for the office
  • purchasing office supplies and ensuring accuracy upon delivery
  • assisting with travel authorization requests and reviewing travel vouchers
  • maintaining office files and records
  • producing a variety of written documents utilizing varied and advanced functions in one or more types of office automation software
  • increasing responsibilities and handling more complex assignments as training and experience progress
