This recognition honors its high standards in academic excellence and administrative capabilities. Situated near the Rocky Mountains, Mines benefits from a vibrant community close to Denver and Boulder, fostering a stimulating environment for innovation and collaboration. The university offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, generous leave policies, state pension plans, tuition reductions, life and disability insurance, professional growth opportunities, and access to world-class recreational and technological resources.
The Department of Economics and Business at Colorado School of Mines is currently seeking a highly motivated and organized Administrative Assistant III. This role is ideal for a dynamic individual who thrives in an energetic academic setting and enjoys being involved in hands-on event coordination and operational support. Unlike traditional administrative roles, this position requires active participation beyond desk work, including physical setup and logistics coordination. The Administrative Assistant III will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of department events ranging from executive visits, symposia, recruiting events, to student programs. The candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle of these activities, including planning, coordinating with vendors and volunteers, managing on-site event logistics, and troubleshooting issues in real time.
Additionally, this role features operational coordination tasks such as managing departmental communications, scheduling, purchasing, travel arrangements, and supporting faculty initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in delivering seamless events and superior operational support that positively impacts faculty, students, and visitors alike. The nature of the job involves frequent physical activity such as standing, walking, lifting, and moving materials, requiring flexibility for occasional evenings and weekend work as events demand. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in an environment that values collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity while contributing to shaping a vibrant academic community at the Colorado School of Mines.
