The company specializes in providing comprehensive aircraft ground handling and flight hospitality services. These services include fueling, line services, hangar and ramp storage, and providing modern executive terminals designed to enhance passenger and crew experience. Atlantic Aviation is recognized for its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, aspiring to be the employer of choice in the aviation segment by continuously investing in safety, service, technology, and strategic infrastructure. This commitment supports the company’s goal to provide more choices, improved experiences, and better value for customers, while also leading the way toward a more sustainable future in business and general aviation. With the philosophy of being "local everywhere," Atlantic Aviation ensures a safe, friendly, and familiar experience for clients across North America.
The role of the General Manager at the Bakersfield, California location is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of the FBO operation. This includes ensuring customer satisfaction, maintaining safety standards, managing efficient operations, overseeing maintenance, and driving financial performance. The General Manager leads a cross-functional team that includes operations, customer service, sales, and local accounting departments, with the goal of surpassing targets and benchmarks in each area. Because the aviation industry operates 24/7, the role requires flexibility, with a work schedule that may include overtime, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations and policies, management of the FBO’s physical plant and equipment, negotiation of fuel and hangar agreements, and maintaining strong relationships with the airport's managing entity. Financial oversight duties such as budgeting and forecasting are also essential to this role. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, positive, and goal-oriented professional experienced in aviation or FBO management, equipped with strong financial, administrative, and problem-solving skills. The General Manager must demonstrate a passion for excellence and ethical conduct, with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to foster a high-performing work environment.
Atlantic Aviation offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, and bonus potential. Additional company-paid benefits cover life insurance, health and wellness programs, and short and long-term disability coverage. Interested candidates are encouraged to learn more about Atlantic Aviation and apply to become a part of a company dedicated to taking off into your future while maintaining a drug-free workplace and an equal employment opportunity environment. Qualified applicants with a criminal history will be considered, reflecting the company’s inclusive hiring practices.
