The role of Adjuster Supervisor, based in Brownsville, TX, is a critical position reporting to the Shift Supervisor. This role involves the responsibility for adjusting Merchandise, Grocery, or Sack paper bag machines to ensure optimal machine performance and product quality. The Adjuster Supervisor plays an essential part in maintaining safe working conditions while meeting or exceeding production targets within their assigned area. The starting pay rate for this position is $18-22 per hour, with the available shift being the third shift.
In this role, the Adjuster Supervisor must continuously adhere to all established safety rules and procedures, ensuring that machine guards are properly in place and functioning. The supervisor enforces safety guidelines including lockout/tagout procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, while identifying and communicating safety training needs. A major part of the job is conducting rigorous quality checks on the bags produced, ensuring compliance with quality policies and good manufacturing practices (GMP). The supervisor ensures these checks are performed consistently at events such as roll changes and that all production paperwork is accurately completed.
The Adjuster Supervisor is tasked with making precise machine setups and order changeovers, adjusting and repairing machines as necessary to boost production, reduce downtime, and improve product quality and machine durability. Monitoring machine run speeds is also vital to meet or surpass budgeted production levels. Additionally, the role includes monitoring employee breaks, scheduling relief as needed, identifying training needs, and organizing training sessions in coordination with the shift supervisor or training coordinator. Effective communication of issues or pending work during shift changes is essential to ensure smooth operations.
The position demands strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, the ability to stand for prolonged periods, and the physical capacity to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently. The work environment involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, vibration, and noise levels that require ear protection. The use of appropriate foot protection is mandatory, and adherence to mandatory drug and alcohol testing policies is required.

Job Duties
- Continuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner adhering to all established safety rules and procedures
- Ensure all guards are in place and functioning properly
- Enforce all safety rules including but not limited to safe work procedures such as lockout/tag out
- Enforce PPE requirements
- Identify safety training needs and provide feedback to Safety Manager Supervisor or training coordinator
- Check bags for quality defects off the machine do all quality checks and paperwork as per Quality Policy
- Ensure required quality checks are being performed by the BMO
- Perform quality checks at each roll change
- Identify quality training needs and provide feedback to quality manager supervisor or training coordinator
- Follow all quality policies and procedures Must comply with all good manufacturing practices
- Must comply with all safety practices and guidelines including PPE requirements
- Make machine set ups and order changeovers
- Adjust and repair machines as needed in order to increase production reduce downtime eliminate quality issues and improve machine durability
- Monitor employee breaks and schedule relief as needed
- Identify training needs and schedule training session with shift Supervisor training coordinator
- Monitor machine run speeds and adjust to run at budgeted speeds or better
- Communicate any issues or pending work at shift change with the incoming adjusters
- Report machine issues and plan repair work accordingly
- Maintain daily housekeeping standards
- Enforce all safety procedures and GMP policies
- Submit accurate production reports daily and timely
- Meet/achieve safety quality production waste and housekeeping goals set forth by management
