Job Requirements

  • Master's degree preferred
  • Bachelor's degree with relevant industry experience considered
  • ServSafe certification or professional equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years industry experience in culinary, baking, hospitality, or nutrition
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and customer service abilities
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Capacity to work flexibly including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
  • Ability to communicate face-to-face, via telephone and electronically
  • Willingness to travel to multiple campus locations as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Master's degree preferred
  • Bachelor's degree with industry experience considered
  • Minimum 10 years of industry experience in culinary, baking, hospitality, or nutrition
  • Professional specialty certification is helpful
  • Proficiency with ServSafe or equivalent professional certification
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills
  • Strong leadership, customer service, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment efficiently
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel to various locations as required
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff using various methods

Job Duties

  • Facilitate student learning within face-to-face, online, hybrid, and HyFlex environments
  • Deliver career-relevant instruction and maintain a conducive learning environment
  • Evaluate student learning by timely grading and responding to inquiries
  • Engage students using collaborative, experiential, and problem-based learning techniques
  • Participate in course and program learning assessments and recommend improvements
  • Collaborate with Deans, Department Chairs, and Program Directors on course development and material selection
  • Schedule and supervise students in clinical, externship, observation, or field experiences
  • Participate in student retention activities, including outreach to students with excessive absences
  • Communicate availability to students via multiple platforms
  • Attend graduation ceremonies and perform other duties as assigned
