Job Description

Banner Staffing Services (BSS) is a division of Banner Health, one of the country’s leading health systems known for its commitment to providing exceptional healthcare services. Located in Mesa, Arizona, the department dedicated to staffing clinical care professionals plays a vital role in supporting the operations of Banner Health facilities throughout the region. Banner Staffing Services offers a unique workplace environment where employees have access to a variety of rewarding careers in healthcare, and are encouraged to grow professionally while making a profound impact on patient care. Banner Health is recognized for fostering a supportive and collaborative culture, where employees are valued and their expertise is appreciated. The BSS team specializes in flexible staffing solutions to meet the diverse needs of hospitals and clinics within the Banner Health network.

This specific opportunity is with Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale, Arizona, under the clinical care category. The position offered is a Registry/Per Diem role which provides flexibility in work hours but does not guarantee a set number of shifts. These roles are ideal for those who want to start or enhance their careers within a reputable healthcare organization. The shifts primarily cover daytime hours, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with workdays scheduled Sunday through Saturday based on assignment needs.

The primary responsibility of this role is to perform prescribed radiographic procedures safely and effectively in compliance with departmental, facility, and state regulations. Radiologic Technologists in this position work closely with patients, families, and multi-disciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging and exceptional patient care throughout all stages of treatment. This role demands strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient education and comfort.

This position involves setting up radiographic equipment, acquiring images, processing diagnostic results, and performing equipment quality control to maintain optimal functionality. The technologist ensures the department’s workflow is efficient by coordinating scheduling, preparing exam rooms, managing patient transport, and maintaining accurate documentation. Commitment to safety policies and procedures is paramount to uphold patient and staff safety.

Registry/Per Diem members enjoy competitive wages, paid orientation, flexible scheduling options on select positions, fewer canceled shifts, weekly pay, and access to retirement plans such as the 403(b) pre-tax retirement. In addition, employees benefit from wellness programs, assistance initiatives, and several discount opportunities on entertainment, restaurants, shopping, and vehicle purchases. While Registry/Per Diem roles do not include guaranteed hours or medical benefits, they serve as an excellent pathway for candidates wishing to become full-time staff members at Banner Health, as internal applications to regular positions are always welcome.

Comprehensive pre-employment screening including a physical assessment, drug screening, and background checks (employment, criminal, education) are mandatory requirements to ensure safety and compliance.

Overall, working with Banner Staffing Services represents a chance to join a nationally recognized healthcare leader, contribute to patient well-being through expert radiologic services, and enjoy a flexible work environment tailored to meet diverse scheduling needs.
