Job Description

Our facility is a reputable and compassionate long-term care provider dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors and individuals requiring extended care services. We take pride in fostering a warm and supportive environment where our residents' well-being and quality of life are our top priorities. As an established long-term care facility, we are committed to delivering exceptional care through personalized programs and a multidisciplinary team approach that addresses the physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of our residents. With adherence to state and federal regulations and a focus on continuous improvement, our institution serves as a trusted home for those who seek compassionate care and meaningful engagement in their daily lives.

We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Activity Director to join our team. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to develop, organize, and implement a comprehensive activity program tailored to our residents' diverse needs and interests. The Activity Director will play a pivotal role in promoting resident engagement, well-being, and quality of life by designing and coordinating activities that support physical, cognitive, social, and emotional health. In this capacity, you will plan daily, weekly, and monthly programs that cater to residents of varying abilities, including those living with dementia or disabilities, ensuring inclusivity across all initiatives.

The Activity Director is responsible for assessing residents’ interests, needs, and functional abilities, encouraging their active participation, and fostering strong relationships through both one-on-one and group activities. Beyond program design, this role involves organizing special events, holiday celebrations, and community outings that enhance the social environment of the facility. Coordination with entertainers, guest speakers, and volunteers is essential to provide diverse and enriching experiences for our residents.

Maintaining accurate activity records and participation logs is a critical component of this position, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. The Activity Director will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, participating in care planning meetings to align activity interventions with each resident’s individualized care plan. Leadership responsibilities include supervising activity staff and volunteers, training and scheduling assistants, and promoting teamwork with nursing, therapy, and social services departments to deliver unified and comprehensive care.

The ideal candidate will have a compassionate and patient-centered approach, strong organizational and communication skills, and experience in long-term care or senior services activity programs. Certification as an Activity Director may be required, reinforcing competency in this specialized field. By maintaining a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment, and managing activity supplies and equipment efficiently, the Activity Director will significantly contribute to the positive daily experiences and overall quality of life of our residents. This role not only offers a fulfilling career path but also the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of those entrusted to our care.
