Job Description
Mt. View Retirement Village is a distinguished senior living community dedicated to enriching the lives of its residents through compassionate care and innovative programs. As part of The Pennant Group, Inc., a reputable holding company known for its independent operating subsidiaries providing high-quality healthcare services across the United States, Mt. View Retirement Village exemplifies a commitment to fostering a welcoming, supportive environment where seniors can thrive with dignity and happiness. Situated in a vibrant, community-focused setting, this senior living establishment offers Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care services, ensuring that diverse resident needs are met with personalized attention and a family-like atmosphere. Mt. View Retirement Village embodies its CAPLICO Core Values—Celebration, Accountability, Passion for Learning, Love One Another, Intelligent Risk Taking, Customer Second (Employee First), and Ownership—which guide every aspect of their operations and contribute to a culture of excellence and care.
The Activities Supervisor role at Mt. View Retirement Village is a unique and fulfilling opportunity designed to energize and transform the daily lives of seniors. This hands-on, creative leadership position involves the development, coordination, and delivery of comprehensive life enrichment programming tailored for residents across Independent, Assisted Living, and Memory Care units. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering meaningful connections and enhancing the well-being of seniors by designing engaging activities that promote mental, physical, social, and emotional wellness.
Responsibilities extend beyond organizing events to include designing dementia-specific programming that incorporates sensory stimulation, emotional engagement, and individualized care plans for residents in Memory Care. The Activities Supervisor will curate a vibrant monthly activity calendar filled with entertainment, games, educational experiences, and physical activities to stimulate all dimensions of the residents' lives. Coordination with volunteers, entertainers, and community resources is essential, alongside collaboration with leadership to ensure programs align with community standards and resident needs.
A critical component of the role is clear communication and outreach to residents, families, and staff to encourage participation and foster a sense of community. Proficiency in maintaining various communication channels—including in-house TV systems, daily flyers, and social media platforms such as Facebook and Next-door—is necessary to keep the community informed and engaged.
This role demands strong organizational and supervisory skills, including overseeing two activity assistants and two community bus drivers, managing bookkeeping tasks related to events and petty cash, and demonstrating a compassionate leadership style. The employer values innovative ideas and supports the freedom to create dynamic programming that truly makes a difference in residents' lives. An Activities Supervisor at Mt. View Retirement Village not only contributes to the social fabric of the community but also plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life and ensuring a joyful, purposeful senior living experience. Competitive benefits accompany this role, including medical, dental, vision coverage, and a 401(k) plan, affirming the employer's commitment to employee well-being and growth.
