The role of Activities Manager for Memory Care at Carlton Senior Living is vital in enriching the lives of residents with memory impairments by developing and implementing engaging programs. This position involves recognizing the psychosocial needs of elderly individuals and tailoring activities that foster social interaction, mental stimulation, and emotional well-being. The Activities Manager is responsible for researching new activities, creating short- and long-term goals, and encouraging participation while respecting residents' privacy. This leadership role also requires collaboration with residents, families, and staff to maintain a warm and inclusive community environment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • must be at least eighteen (18) years or older, per Title 22 requirements
  • prior experience working with older adults or vulnerable populations
  • proficiency in computer use including communication, scheduling, and basic graphic design
  • ability to develop and implement engaging activities programs

Job Duties

  • Recognize the psychosocial needs of the elderly
  • study and analyze seniors’ recreational needs and resources
  • conduct research and develop short- and long-range goals and objectives
  • continuously seek out new activities, events, and excursions
  • understand the community residents’ likes, dislikes, hobbies, and interests
  • research and implement new programs and materials to satisfy and nourish residents' mind, body, and soul daily
  • maximize individual participation in events while respecting the resident’s right to privacy
  • support the Resident Council and other resident-led committees
  • complete the orientation of all new residents
  • interpret programs and their philosophy to individuals and groups
  • support safety protocols, emergency plans, and elopement prevention practices
  • foster a warm, collaborative atmosphere with residents, families, and team members
