The community is currently seeking an Activities and Events Coordinator to join their team. This role is pivotal in developing, planning, and overseeing engaging activities and events that enhance the physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being of the residents. The Coordinator will be responsible for scheduling and conducting programs that foster a lively and inclusive community atmosphere. The position requires someone who is ready to coordinate community events from start to finish, including set-up, management during the event, and clean-up afterward. Flexibility is essential as the role may involve working evenings and every other weekend to support planned activities. This is a part-time or full-time position that offers a chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors while working in a dynamic and caring environment. Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree in social work, recreation, sociology, psychology or related field preferred
  • one to three years experience in assisted living or long term care working with memory care patients preferred
  • proficient verbal, written and presentation skills
  • ability to encourage and motivate older adults
  • computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • demonstrated creative ability
  • strong skills in organization, delegation and consensus building

Job Duties

  • Assist in the development and oversight of resident activities
  • plan, schedule and conduct programs that provide physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual opportunities for our residents
  • attend all community planned functions and help coordinate the event from beginning to end including set-up, running, and breaking down for the event
  • assist in preparing and organizing a calendar of events
  • must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings and every other weekend for planned activity events
