Job Description

The current opening is for an Activities and Events Coordinator, a vital role dedicated to enriching the lives of residents through carefully planned activities and events. This position requires a creative and organized individual who can design and implement programs that cover a broad spectrum of interests including physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual aspects. The coordinator plays an essential part in maintaining vibrant community life by managing activities from inception to completion, including setup and teardown of events. The role demands flexibility, as the coordinator must be willing to work evenings and every other weekend to support community events. Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree in social work, recreation, sociology, psychology or related field preferred
  • One to three years experience in assisted living or long term care preferred
  • Proficient verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to encourage and motivate older adults
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and every other weekend
  • Demonstrated creative ability
  • Strong skills in organization, delegation and consensus building

Job Duties

  • Assist in the development and oversight of resident activities
  • Plan, schedule and conduct programs that provide physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual opportunities for residents
  • Attend all community planned functions and help coordinate the event from beginning to end including set-up, running, and breaking down
  • Assist in preparing and organizing a calendar of events
  • Work flexible hours including evenings and every other weekend for planned activity events
