The role of Activities Assistant (FACETS Assistant) at Grand Living is designed to significantly enhance the resident experience through the adept implementation of the FACETS program. FACETS is Grand Living’s comprehensive collection of life-enriching initiatives focusing on five vital dimensions of well-being: socialization, health and wellness, lifelong learning, legacy, and spirituality. This multifaceted program encompasses a diverse array of activities aimed at holistic wellness and life enrichment, offering residents a lifestyle defined by First Class Happiness®. The Activities Assistant plays a crucial role in this mission by delivering friendly, courteous, and professional support, reflecting the company’s Sterling Touch® philosophy in all resident and team interactions. Reporting to the Director of FACETS, this position requires adherence to community standards and actively contributes to designing and executing a well-rounded and refined activities program tailored to meet the wants and needs of a sophisticated and talented resident population. This is a full-time role with a schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, including one rotating weekend per month. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One or more years experience in planning, coordinating, or leading activities and events preferred
  • Ability to read, write and understand the English language
  • Willingness and ability to participate in multifaceted wellness programs including theater, art, music, fitness, education, event planning and recreation
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull and work continuously without sitting for extended periods
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 20 pounds
  • Available full time for Monday to Friday schedule with 1 rotating weekend a month

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in planning, coordinating, or leading activities and events preferred
  • Strong communication skills in English both written and verbal
  • Ability to participate actively in diverse activity programs
  • Knowledge of senior living community environments preferred
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, resident-focused setting

Job Duties

  • Assist in planning and coordinating resident activities as part of the FACETS program
  • Participate in the execution of a variety of well-rounded activities including theater, art, music, fitness, education, event planning, and recreation
  • Provide exceptional resident engagement with a friendly, courteous, and professional manner
  • Model The Sterling Touch® etiquette in all interactions with residents and colleagues
  • Support the Director of FACETS in maintaining community standards, processes, and philosophy
  • Ensure activities meet the social, wellness, learning, legacy, and spiritual needs of residents
  • Help enhance overall resident satisfaction through consistent and thoughtful service delivery
