Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Gerontology, Therapeutic Recreation, Aging Studies, Human Services, Health Care Administration or closely related field
  • Two years of experience in recreation programming, older adult programming or closely related field
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Must possess valid AED, First Aid and CPR certifications within 30 days of hire
  • Must pass pre-offer and post-offer employment processes including interviews, reference checks, CAPS check, background checks
  • Ability to perform essential job functions including physical demands such as light lifting and mobility
  • Ability to work some weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Must be able to safely operate a 15-passenger bus and adhere to safety protocols and licensing requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Gerontology, Therapeutic Recreation, Aging Studies, Human Services, Health Care Administration or closely related field
  • Two years of experience in recreation programming, older adult programming or closely related field
  • Experience with older adult trips and tours preferred
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Warm, engaging, and service driven
  • Collaborative and confident communicator

Job Duties

  • Plans, coordinates, and implements comprehensive programs, classes, trips, and special events for older and active adults
  • Manages all aspects of group travel programs including vendor selection, contract negotiation, itinerary development, logistics coordination, and participant safety
  • Enters, maintains, and audits program, class, and trip information within the RecTrac registration system to ensure data integrity
  • Oversees and facilitates daily on-site programming such as drop-in activities and social groups
  • Monitors program quality and participation, evaluates outcomes, and implements improvements
  • Administers insurance-based fitness programs including attendance tracking and reimbursement reports
  • Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with internal departments, community organizations, and private vendors
  • Provides transportation for program participants, safely operating a 15-passenger bus and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and licensing requirements
