Job Description
United Ground Express (UGE) is a prominent regional airline operations company that provides essential ground handling services for United Airlines across various locations. Established as a key partner in the aviation industry, UGE is dedicated to delivering high-quality customer service and operational excellence in the transportation sector. United Ground Express operates as an essential component in the travel experience, ensuring smooth and efficient ground operations that serve millions of passengers every year. The company prides itself on fostering a positive work environment, promoting safety, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards while delivering superior service to customers and airline partners alike.
The role of General Manager at United Ground Express is pivotal to the operational and service success of airport stations. The General Manager will oversee day-to-day station operations, financial performance, team leadership, and customer satisfaction. This leadership position demands a proactive approach to managing station activities to ensure they meet and exceed expectations in service delivery and regulatory compliance. The General Manager will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for both customers and employees, fostering a collaborative and positive workplace culture. This position requires exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a strong ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced airport environment.
As a General Manager, you will be entrusted with independently managing airport operations, ensuring safety and security checkpoint compliance, coaching and directing teams for operational success, and maintaining strong relationships with airport authorities, vendors, and regulatory agencies such as the FAA, TSA, and CBP. You will drive station performance by monitoring financial results, managing budgets and staffing resources, and continuously seeking opportunities to improve the travel experience for passengers. Additionally, the General Manager will oversee station facilities and appearance standards to represent UGE professionally in all aspects.
In this role, you will work flexible hours, including shifts that may extend to 24/7 availability during high-demand periods or unforeseen operational situations. A valid US state driver’s license is essential, as is prior supervisory and operational experience in airport or customer service-related industries. UGE offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and comprehensive benefits, making this an excellent opportunity for motivated leaders who thrive in challenging and rewarding aviation environments. Join UGE to make a significant impact in the air travel journey where your leadership fosters safe, efficient, and customer-oriented airport operations.
