Job Requirements
- Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
- Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or GED certificate
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
- Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
- Must meet citizenship requirements
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training for Food Service Specialist
- Knowledge of food safety standards
- Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment
- Strong organizational skills
- Interest in cooking and nutrition
- Ability to work in a team environment
Job Duties
- Bake, fry, braise, boil, simmer, steam and sauté as prescribed by Army recipes
- Operate, maintain and clean field kitchen equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance on garrison and field kitchen equipment
- Plan and prep menus to meet dietary requirements
- Ensure food safety and facility sanitation standards are strictly followed
- Serve food to Soldiers in various settings
- Manage food and supply ordering and storage
