The role of Branch Manager at BakeMark is a pivotal leadership position that requires a hands-on approach and comprehensive management expertise. Under the limited supervision of the General Manager and with development toward becoming a General Manager, the Branch Manager directs, manages, and coordinates all branch functions. This includes overseeing procurement, production, warehousing, distribution, sales, collections, and accounting or reporting and administration. The role demands strategic thinking and operational execution to meet or exceed the branch and company goals. The Branch Manager plays a crucial role in developing strategic plans, programs, and policies tailored to optimize resources including facilities, equipment, and employees. They also analyze market trends, customer needs, and pricing strategies to craft effective sales programs that contribute to the company's growth and profitability.

With direct supervisory responsibilities over various departments such as Sales, Manufacturing, Warehouse, Distribution, Purchasing, and Administrative and Accounting personnel, the Branch Manager fosters a harmonious and productive work environment. They are responsible for hiring, training, performance appraisals, and employee development to build a robust and motivated team. Additionally, the Branch Manager partners closely with senior leadership, including the Vice President of Regional Operations and the Vice President of Human Resource Development, especially in areas like labor relations, contract negotiations, and implementing training and education programs. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in project management or related field
  • 4-6 years of related experience and/or training
  • combination of education, experience and training
  • knowledge of branch operations including procurement, production, warehousing, distribution, sales, collections, and accounting

Job Duties

  • Manages all branch activities in accordance with policies, guidelines, and procedures established by Executive Management
  • Manages branch activities in a way that will achieve both short and long term goals of the Branch and Company
  • Develops branch strategic plan, tactics, programs, policies, and procedures to optimize use of facilities, equipment and employees and achieve sales and profit growth as established with Executive Management
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates, developing sales programs to meet or exceed goals of branch and company
  • Determines branch product offering and pricing consistent with company strategies and financial expectations
  • Supports the promotion and success of the BakeMark brand
  • Keeps informed of new training methods, techniques of competitors and pending introduction of new company products to determine training needs for the branch
  • Develops and directs training plans, programs and procedures to ensure current and effective training programs for branch personnel
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and safety rules as stated in the Employee Handbook and otherwise posted or communicated
  • Exemplify the BakeMark core values of Partnership, Performance and Passion in all aspects of assigned duties
  • Other duties as assigned to reach Company goals
