This position is for a Custodian responsible for preserving the interior and exterior cleanliness and safety of the company's site. It involves performing a variety of janitorial tasks using standard equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor sweepers, and polishers as well as maintaining outdoor grounds through the use of power equipment. The custodian will handle routine and non-routine cleaning orders, manage inventories of cleaning supplies, and ensure restrooms and common areas are sanitary and stocked. Other responsibilities include addressing emergency cleanup requests and supporting environmental health and safety initiatives, including the distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE).

The role requires adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and corporate standards, including food safety and quality assurance protocols. The custodian must implement good manufacturing practices (GMPs) and cooperate closely with quality assurance personnel. This is a safety-critical role necessitating proper use of PPE and compliance with established safety policies to protect themselves and others on site. The position often demands flexibility such as the ability to work occasional overtime when required.

Candidates for this role should have a high school diploma or equivalent education and preferably prior janitorial or cleaning experience. A valid driver's license and certification or license to operate a powered industrial forklift are required during employment. Essential skills include knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and capable communication skills in English. Basic Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Outlook, are considered an asset.
