Job Description
The Sanderling Resort, nestled in the charming town of Duck, North Carolina, stands as the premier oceanfront destination in the Outer Banks. Known for its refined coastal hospitality, the resort offers guests not just a place to stay but an immersive experience that blends natural beauty with exceptional service. The resort caters to a diverse array of visitors seeking relaxation, adventure, and memorable moments amidst stunning ocean views and well-appointed amenities. The Lifesaving Station (LSS) is a key culinary asset within the Sanderling Resort, delivering a captivating dining experience that perfectly aligns with the resort's commitment to excellence in hospitality. LSS presents a menu that elegantly balances elevated yet approachable cuisine with a strong beverage program. Its environment invites families and guests to enjoy warm, friendly, and attentive service in a lively, high-volume setting that reflects the vibrancy of coastal North Carolina.
The Front of House Supervisor / Restaurant Manager / Restaurant General Manager role at the Lifesaving Station is a pivotal position responsible for leading the front-of-house team toward delivering unparalleled guest experiences. This role requires an individual with not only a passion for hospitality but with refined leadership skills, comprehensive menu knowledge, strong coordination capabilities, and an unwavering commitment to service excellence. The successful candidate will oversee daily operations ensuring that all aspects of service — from greeting guests to managing orders and addressing service issues — meet the high standards set by EOS Hospitality and the Sanderling Resort. They will uphold consistent service protocols, foster teamwork among front-of-house staff, and maintain seamless communication with culinary and beverage teams to ensure a smooth dining experience.
In addition to managing and motivating team members, the leader in this role will actively engage in maintaining an atmosphere where guests feel welcomed and valued. This includes directing efforts to educate servers on detailed menu features, allergen information, food preparation methods, and beverage pairings that enhance the guest dining journey. The leader is also tasked with ensuring accuracy and timeliness in order execution, managing guest payment processes efficiently, and adhering rigorously to all resort policies, including alcohol service regulations and workplace conduct standards.
The role demands flexibility, resilience, and a hands-on approach, as it entails working in a fast-paced environment with seasonal fluctuations. It requires availability for varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet the dynamic operational needs. This position is ideal for someone with previous experience in full-service restaurant settings, a passion for creating elevated guest experiences, and a willingness to embrace the unique challenges and rewards of resort hospitality. The Front of House Supervisor / Restaurant Manager / Restaurant General Manager at the Lifesaving Station plays an essential role in upholding the hospitality legacy of the Sanderling Resort by ensuring every guest encounter is marked by quality, warmth, and professionalism.
