Job Requirements

  • minimum 6 months experience in receiving and storing materials
  • ServSafe Food Handler Certification or equivalent
  • forklift/electric pallet jack training certification
  • ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • ability to perform physical and clerical duties involved in the rotation and proper handling of food service supplies and equipment
  • ability to operate warehouse machines and equipment
  • ability to stand for extended periods of time, reach overhead, bend at the waist, kneel, crouch, and use proper lifting methods
  • ability to work in varying temperatures and occasionally walk on slippery surfaces
  • ability to follow oral and written directions
  • ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment
  • effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors
  • knowledge of warehouse operations including inventory storage, rotation (FIFO) and receiving procedures
  • knowledge of methods used in receiving and storing food, supplies and equipment
  • knowledge of general workplace safety guidelines

Job Duties

  • maintain cleanliness, organization and safety in warehouse, coolers, and freezers in compliance with sanitation standards
  • operate forklift and manual and electric pallet jacks to move, load and unload materials safely and efficiently
  • communicate daily with supervisors and team members regarding deliveries, inventory status and storage needs safety procedures while handling, storing and transporting products
  • store and organize food items in designated section of the warehouse, cooler and freezer locations ensuring proper temperature control and accessibility
  • rotate perishable and nonperishable inventory as needed using the first-in, first-out (FIFO) process to minimize waste
  • inspect food to verify quality and reject items that are spoiled or damaged
  • wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and other kitchenware using dishwashers or by hand according to sanitation guidelines
