Job Description
Spec's is a well-established retail company known for its diverse and high-quality selection of wine, spirits, beer, gourmet foods, and various gift items. With numerous locations throughout Texas, Spec's stands as a leader in the beverage and specialty retail industry, providing a unique shopping experience to customers and supporting a vibrant community atmosphere. The company prides itself on delivering excellent customer service and maintaining strong professional relationships with its clientele. Spec's commitment to community engagement and employee development helps foster a positive work environment where team members are valued and given opportunities to grow and succeed. Spec's operates with a strong emphasis on safety, integrity, and adherence to state and federal regulations, especially as a distributor of alcoholic beverages, where compliance with licensing and transportation laws is critical.
The role of a Delivery Driver at Spec's is pivotal to the seamless operation of their distribution network. This position requires experienced drivers who can work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting to ensure the safe and timely delivery of products to Spec's retail stores and customers. Drivers must consistently uphold the company's core values and mission statement through professional conduct and excellence in service. The role involves operating delivery vehicles, typically box trucks or vans, adhering strictly to safety protocols, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness and orderliness. Drivers will be responsible for verifying shipments, managing invoices, handling payments, and addressing any discrepancies or damages, including those related to TABC tax stamps. Attention to detail and accurate record-keeping, such as maintaining driver route sheets and standardized filing systems, are essential duties.
Candidates for this position must possess a valid Texas driver’s license and maintain eligibility to drive under insurance requirements, including timely acquisition of a Texas license for new residents within 90 days. The ideal driver has experience of at least one to two years in driving, preferably with delivery or similar responsibilities. Attention to safety, a clean driving record, ability to manage physical demands of the job, and excellent customer service skills are critical for success. The role demands reliability, punctuality, and availability, including shifts on Fridays and Saturdays, with full-time and part-time positions available. Physical fitness is necessary as the role requires lifting, moving heavy items, and operating industrial equipment for pallet movement. Working in various weather conditions and moderate to loud work environment noise levels are to be expected.
Spec's values clear communication, teamwork, and proactive problem-solving, enabling drivers to contribute positively to the company’s goals. The position offers a stable career opportunity with a company known for its vibrant culture and supportive work environment. With an emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance, this role is perfect for those who are safety-conscious, customer-oriented, and ready to perform detailed delivery logistics duties daily.
