KIPP NYC Public Schools is a non-profit network comprising 18 free, public charter schools located in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in a kitchen or food service preferred but not required
- ability to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- commitment to food safety and sanitation standards
- reliable attendance
- ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- good communication skills

Job Qualifications

- fundamental understanding of sanitation and cleanliness
- requires moderate physical effort including standing, carrying, bending, stretching, stooping, pulling, pushing, lifting weights up to 50 lbs
- must be able to communicate effectively
- must be self-motivated and able to problem solve effectively
- unwavering commitment to the KIPP mission, students, families, and community
- desire to continuously learn and increase effectiveness as a professional

Job Duties
- Wash pots, pans dishes, utensils, plates, trays during lunch service
- assist in bussing bins
- assist in cleaning the kitchen and servery
- assist in prepping food when needed
- follow established food safety, cleaning and maintenance procedures
- maintain assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition
- practice proper care and maintenance of all equipment
