Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • must be 21 years of age to serve alcohol
  • ability to safely lift and stock items up to 50 lbs
  • willingness to stand, sit, bend, walk and perform physical tasks for extended periods
  • availability to work flexible hours including weekends
  • ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers
  • endorsement by current leader required for internal transfers, promotions or rehire candidates
  • approval by HR business partner for rehires

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in bakery operations or food service preferred
  • leadership or supervisory experience advantageous
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to food handling
  • basic math skills for inventory and pricing
  • customer service experience
  • ability to coach, train and evaluate team members
  • proficiency in merchandising standards and stock management

Job Duties

  • Directing bakery department personnel and meeting department’s goals and objectives
  • managing the bakery while the bakery team lead is not on duty
  • communicating directly with the bakery team lead, store director and bakery specialist
  • ordering supplies and products to maintain adequate stock levels
  • merchandising bakery goods according to bakery merchandising standards
  • executing and supporting all sales and merchandising initiatives
  • serving as the leader, role model, coach, performance evaluator and trainer for the bakery team
  • ensuring compliance with health department and weights and measures requirements
  • monitoring product pricing, signage and placement including use of shelf tags
  • maintaining a clean, neat and orderly check stand, sales counter and work production areas
  • wrapping, boxing, weighing, slicing, finishing, and stocking bakery products while rotating them to ensure quality and safety
  • taking customer orders and ensuring timely completion to satisfaction
  • performing all other related duties as assigned
