Job Requirements

  • Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
  • Must be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma or GED
  • Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
  • Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
  • Must meet citizenship requirements
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and security clearances
  • Availability to participate in both training and operational deployments

Job Qualifications

  • Completion of Army National Guard Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and decisive in stressful situations

Job Duties

  • Control airborne and ground traffic
  • Assist in the installation/relocation of tactical air traffic control facilities
  • Process flight plan data and maintain logs, records, files, and tape recordings of voice communications
  • Provide guidance on technical air traffic control issues to other Soldiers
  • Brief shift personnel on runway utilization, airfield conditions, weather, and ground activity
  • Monitor aircraft movement and coordinate safe takeoff and landing procedures
  • Ensure compliance with operational and safety protocols
