The position of Night-time Line Cook at Capital City Club Brookhaven is a full-time role that offers flexibility for those interested in part-time work. The role is integral to maintaining the kitchen’s high standards during busy evening service hours, requiring an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who can work well within a team. The Line Cook will primarily be responsible for preparing food items according to the restaurant’s recipes and portion specifications, focusing on sauté and grill stations with high-volume service demands. In addition to food preparation, the cook will be expected to maintain cleanliness and organization of their workstation and assist with the overall kitchen cleanliness and sanitation. The role offers valuable cross-training opportunities that can help refine culinary skills and prepare the candidate for future growth within the culinary department. The successful candidate must be capable of working under pressure, demonstrating problem-solving skills, and delivering quality results while adhering to food safety and sanitation standards. A strong understanding of food handling, kitchen equipment, and cooking techniques is necessary for this member-facing role. It also requires physical stamina as the position involves standing for prolonged periods and occasional lifting of heavy items. Reporting to the Executive Chef or Sous Chef, this position contributes directly to the club’s commitment to providing quality service and culinary excellence to its members. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 35 pounds regularly
  • strong communication skills in English
  • ability to follow and understand cooking directions
  • capacity to work under pressure
  • must pass pre-employment drug screening

Job Duties

  • Sets up station according to restaurant guidelines
  • prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant
  • restocks all items as needed throughout the shift
  • cleans and maintains station in practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills
  • has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in the station
  • assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas
  • performs additional responsibilities as requested by the Chef or Sous Chefs
