Transportation Federal Credit Union (TFCU) is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial institution dedicated to enhancing the financial well-being of its members. Established in 1939, TFCU has grown to serve over 17,000 members worldwide. It offers a comprehensive range of financial services tailored to meet diverse needs.

Membership Eligibility

Membership at TFCU is open to individuals associated with various transportation-related government agencies and employer groups. Eligible members include active or retired employees, military personnel, or contractors of organizations such as the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, Federal Railroad Administration, and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Additionally, immediate family members and household members of eligible individuals are also welcome to join.

Financial Services and Products

TFCU offers a wide array of financial products and services designed to support members at every stage of their financial journey, including:

• Checking and Savings Accounts: Options include standard checking accounts, high-yield checking, savings accounts, share certificates, individual retirement accounts (IRAs), and money market share accounts.
• Loans and Credit Cards: Members can access competitive rates on vehicle loans, mortgages, personal loans, home equity loans and lines of credit, student loans, and credit cards.
• Digital Banking Services: TFCU provides 24/7 access to accounts through online banking and a mobile app, enabling members to manage their finances conveniently from anywhere.

Branch Locations

TFCU operates several branch locations to serve its members:

• Department of Transportation Branch: Located at 1200 New Jersey Avenue SE, Washington, DC 20590. This branch offers lobby hours Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, with restricted access requiring a Federal Government ID or TFCU Membership Card and valid state-issued ID or driver’s license.
• Federal Aviation Administration Branch: Situated at 800 Independence Avenue SW, Suite 128, Washington, D.C. 20591. It operates Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, with similar access requirements.
• Volpe Branch: Located at 220 Binney Street, Cambridge, MA 02142. This branch is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, with access requiring a Federal Government ID or valid state-issued ID or driver’s license.
• Alexandria Branch: Found at 1600 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. It operates Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, with access requiring a Federal Government ID or valid state-issued ID or driver’s license.

In addition to these branches, TFCU is part of the CO-OP Network, providing members access to over 30,000 ATMs nationwide, including those at Walgreens, Costco®, and 7-Eleven® stores. Members can also utilize over 5,000 shared branches and 2,000 self-serve locations across the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam, and military bases worldwide.
